The 2016 Chaplain's Breakfast was held on Saturday 28 May at the Yokine Bowling Club.
Organised by popular speedway Chaplain Terry Dorrington with the assistance of Frank Figliomeni, this breakfast is held annually to reunite competitors, officials and speedway identities from the Claremont era. Some of the biggest names in the sport have attended over the past few year's and this event was no different. Chum Taylor, Ray Geneve, Phil Myers, Mick McKeon, Jim Phillips, Rex McKay, Richard Bellam, Ian Watts, Bim Keith, John Day, Geoff Stanton, Gavin Migro, Terry Cutts, Bob Goddard, Geoff Pilgrim, Barry Blake, Trev Kenworthy, John Sims, Ross McNicol, John Watkins, Tony Giancola and Rod Slater were amongst the guests. A late arrival was Wade Aunger who flew-in from Sydney to compare the WASDA Presentation Awards night that evening. It was great to see Wade back in town.
As is tradition at any local speedway function Wayne 'Chuck' Redmond controlled the mic and there were plenty of laughs.
Please click on the Photo Gallery page and peruse the attendees.
A special thanks to Con Migro and staff at the Yokine Bowling Club for hosting this event and to the 'Chatty Chaplain' for again ensuring this event is a special one on the speedway calendar. Roll on next year!
